Random Ramblings

Ingredients:

• 1 pint (0.57 litres) vanilla ice cream (softened)
• 1/2 stick butter (softened)
• 1/3 cup brown sugar
• 2 tsp. of cinnamon
• 1 tsp. grated nutmeg
• 1/4 tsp. ground clove
• 1 imperial quart (1.1 litre) apple cider

Directions:

1. Cream butter, sugar and spices together.
2. Beat in the vanilla ice cream.
3. Re-freeze the mixture.
4. Scoop out the frozen mixture into a glass.
5. Pour hot Apple cider over the ice cream mixture.

Optional: add an ounce (30 g) of rum for an adult treat.

Mix and drink!

So I saw Goblet of Fire today, and it was great! Oh man, was it ever great! I want to see it again, and I’m certainly going to buy it when it comes out. My only complaint: not enough Snape. And the one big Snape scene there was, some kid in the theater started wailing. Grrrr. This little kid was running up and down the aisles making a racket. Mom got up to go to the loo, and when she was walking down the aisle, the little girl ran to her, arms open to be picked up. Anyone could have snatched that kid. I swear, some people shouldn’t breed.

But the movie was great, and mom and I had a fun time together. =) I really enjoy shopping and talking with her about stuff. I can really talk to her, too, and she listens. We went to Wal-Mart, (the place was packed), and then to the movie, and then we had lunch-supper at Burger King, and then we went to Giant Tiger. We wondered around there for a bit, and I got some gifts for people, and a nifty camouflage zip-up sweater-coat-thing for me. =) It’s soft, and cosy. And it’s camo. Heh. I told mom that when she goes to do her Christmas shopping, I’d go with her, so that’ll be fun.

I’m mostly done my shopping, just a very few more things to get.

• A toy for a 3-year-old girl, from the Angel Tree

I can likely get that stuff when Mom and I go shopping again. =) Then, I just have to wrap it all. Ugh!

So, it’s come, and I’m now 32. Still not quite settled into that thought yet. Ah well. I’m so happy, because mom and dad got me what I had asked for! They got me a Scent Stories player. I’ve wanted one of these, ever since they first came out. They were horridly expensive then, however, and they’ve come down a lot in price since. So I didn’t feel so bad about asking for one. =) It smells very nice in my room right now. The disk I have playing is called Breezes Through the Clothesline. It’s all airy and cottony. =)

Tomorrow’s my birthday! I can hardly believe I’m going to be 32. Where did the time go? I don’t feel 32. I don’t feel like a kid, either, but dang. 32. From there, it’s just a short trip to 40! And then, God, Peter will be 20 and Cady 15! I’m not ready for that. No way.

I received roses from Barb today, they’re so very pretty. I haven’t gotten flowers in a long, long time. It was so very sweet of her. =)

I just love them. And the info that came with them had a lot of stuff in it about keeping roses longer, that I didn’t know. So, cool. I learned something today.

Mom and dad switched the dining room and living room around. After taking pictures of my roses, I took some of the ‘new’ living room. Mom was on the computer, and dad walked up behind her and made a funny face. So of course I took a picture of it.

Now I’m going to go scrounge something to eat, and then maybe try to beat Rainbow Web.

I’m feeling better today, thank God. And Peter was in a good mood this morning. =) He looked very cute, with his hair all spiked up.

I can’t wait until Sunday. I’m going to see Goblet of Fire with my other mom. (Peter’s father’s mother) We’ve been looking forward to this for a long time, now. =) It’ll be so nice to spend the day with her. We’re going to do some shopping, and wander around the mall, and we’ll have lunch I’m sure. It’s nice to spend time just chatting with her. This time, I won’t get sick and bail out on her.

So, my headphones are quasi-broken, and I went to Argyle Mall tonight to get another pair at The Source. (I still think of the place as RadioShack) $57.49 later, the damn things don’t work. Grrrr. I’ll take them back tomorrow and go to Staples and look for a cheaper pair. These ones were all they had.

Peter didn’t really want to go, but he was happy enough to browse in EB Games while I did my shopping. There was a table set up in the mall where a fellow was selling fudge, candy apples, cotton candy and caramel corn. Peter wanted a candy apple, so dad gave him three bucks to get one. The guy wasn’t at the table, so we stood around waiting and waiting, and then mom and I left to get the car. When we got back, Peter and dad were still waiting. So I called to them, and they came out to get into the car. Just as we were pulling away, the guy came back. Seeing this, Peter had an absolute fit. He whined and whined about how it wasn’t fair, until he got himself yelled at.

So, not all that great a night, thus far. Bleh.

So, I spent some time setting up a blog here. Now, I need to actually put up a website, eh?

It’s cold this morning, and I feel awful. I couldn’t sleep last night, because I didn’t feel well, so now I’m really wiped. Peter is off to school, so I’m going to finish this up, and head to bed.
